Let It Be

Meditation: Let It Be

The stoic philosopher, Epictetus, in his book entitled The Enchiridion explores the nature of life. Epictetus called us to discern between what’s within and what’s beyond our control. It helps to know how best to use our energy each day. What are we called to do? What are we called to simply let it be? Learn. Discern.

Do the work of the Great Spirit. The rest, let it be.

But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

Meditation: Authenticity

One can only be true to one’s self if we’re able to know the true self. Babies and animals model spontaneity and play as a window into authentic living. Too much reflection can block the expression of our true self.  Paul Simon (Simon and Garfunkel) wrestled artfully with true communication, in contrast to the false self to which the majority bows and prays:

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said:
“The words of the prophets are
Written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence.”

Be still and know your true self. Be still and know in the silence. Emerge authentically, day by day.

A city.  A place. A passion for spiritual wholeness.

Free to move with the rhythm of peace and balance. Walk in beauty.

The walkable.  Reason. Safe. Comfortable. Interesting.

Meditation: Transformation

What matters as we move through life?

Mission accepted. Wholeness embraced.

Transformed by the renewing of the mind through the Great Spirit.

Meditation: Solitude

Some things can only be learned in silence.

Some things can only be learned in solitude.

Some things can only be taught by the still small voice within.
